Course Reserves: Home

What is a course reserve?

A course reserve is a book or DVD that is made available at the library by your professor for in-library use only. These items include textbooks, required films, and other materials that are important for your classes. Most course reserves can't leave the library, so make sure you plan enough time to stay in the library for a bit to use them!

Feel free to make copies of any materials you need, take pictures of what you need, or hangout and read/watch the material in the library.

Faculty: How to put materials on reserve

To place a book or other item on course reserve, please fill out the Reserve Request form below. When completed, please drop the form off at the library, or email it to library@annamaria.edu

Placing books on reserve can take up to a few days, so please complete the process before your students need the resource.

Course reserve policies

Here are the library's policies for checking out course reserves:

  • Items are available for a 3-hour, in library use only checkout (unless you're specifically told otherwise).
  • Course reserves cannot leave the library, not even to be used upstairs in the Info Commons.
  • You must have an active library account to check out course reserves. If your account has expired or is not in good standing, that needs to be resolved before checking out the item.
  • Reserves are first come, first served -- if the item is checked out when you arrive, you'll have to check in for it later, or wait for it to be returned.
