Academic coaching is open to all AMC students.
What is academic coaching?
Academic coaching is a service in which students work one-on-one with an academic coach to develop skills and strategies for academic success. The strategies and skills that you focus on while working with an academic coach are based on your specific goals and needs.
What is the difference between academic coaching and tutoring?
Academic coaching is not the same as tutoring. Tutoring focuses on helping students understand course content or complete specific assignments related to coursework. Academic coaching assists students with building skills and strategies that will help them persist and succeed in college.
What might I work on during academic coaching sessions?
Some of the skills and strategies you might focus on when working with an academic coach include:
How long does the academic coaching program last?
Since students usually set semester-long goals, students tend to work with academic coaches for one semester. However, some students may find that they would like to continue their work with their academic coach over multiple semesters or multiple academic years to focus on long-term academic goals.
How much does the academic coaching program cost?
This service is free of charge for all students at Anna Maria College.
Students can customize their academic coaching plans to suit their needs.
