The Anna Maria College Institute of Local and Community Studies helps to frame some of the research questions important for the College and its collaborators. It provides outlets for disseminating the results of research implemented by the academic community (faculty, students, collaborators). The Institute houses the results of research such as papers and essays related to the past and the present of the College, essays and theses written by faculty, undergraduate and graduate students as well as honoring work by local writers, whether their work is creative, non-fiction, or creative non-fiction. Through its presence and activities, the Anna Maria College Institute of Local and Community Studies encourages faculty, students and its collaborators to engage in community research, whatever form that might take.
