To find a specific book or to find a book on a specific topic, your best bet is to start with Mondor-Eagen Library resources and then expand your search. As an online student, you have full access to the Mondor-Eagen Library's collections of electronic content. The Mondor-Eagen also has access to a network of libraries in Central and Western Massachusetts (CWMARS) where electronic content can be borrowed by AMC students.
E-books can be found in the library catalog, as well as in specific e-book databases. To limit your search to just show e-books, change the "All formats" dropdown option to "E-book." If the AMC library doesn't have what you need, expand your search to include all of the CWMARS libraries (top of drop down list). If you have any difficulty logging in or using our online resources, email library@annamaria.edu.
Begin searching in the AMC Library catalog below, or navigate to the main page. Click here for a tutorial video on how to use the catalog.
Interlibrary loan (ILL) is a system through which the AMC library requests articles and books that we do not carry from other libraries. As an online student, you can place an interlibrary loan request for any articles where the library does not have access to the full text.*
If a shareable copy can be found within our various resource sharing consortiums, it will be requested on your behalf and sent to you via email as soon as it is available. It is recommended that you immediately download the article once received, as the link to the document does not last indefinitely.
To request an item through interlibrary loan, please click here.
*Note: Interlibrary loan services for online students are limited to articles, as book loans can only be placed for physical books, which must be picked up and returned to campus. If you live nearby and can travel to pick up/return the books, you can place requests for physical books.
All the databases that the library subscribes to are available from off-campus. Click here to see a full list of databases the library subscribes to.
All libraries share resources, as no single library can subscribe to all the databases or purchase all books, articles, journals, etc. that their patrons may be interested in. AMC belongs to a variety of library consortiums, both local and international, to increase the amount of materials available to the AMC community. The infographic below describes the different consortiums and how they serve AMC - note that the bigger the circle, the more books and articles are available, but the smaller the circle, the closer you are to checking materials out. The AMC library may have the smallest amount of materials, but they are typically available the quickest, whether it's an article in the AMC databases or a physical book available on the shelf.
Depending on where you are located, accessing content in preferred formats may require some additional navigation. If you're having issues finding resources, please contact the reference librarian at reference@annamaria.edu for assistance.
