The Mondor-Eagen Library hosts a variety of events during the academic year for students, faculty, and staff. See below for current event offerings.
Citation Assistance: As due-dates get closer, do you find your works cited page needs some TLC? Not sure how to incorporate in-text citations or format your paper? Drop in from 1-2pm in the library on Tuesday, April 29 for citation assistance with an AMC librarian.
Date: Tuesday April 29
Time: 1:00pm-2:00pm
Location: Library (Lower Level of Info Commons)
If faculty are interested in incentivizing their students to attend a workshop, or are interested in doing the workshop in class as an instruction session, please contact reference@annamaria.edu to coordinate.
AI: How It Works covers the basics of artificial intelligence. Participants will learn helpful definitions, what AI does well/doesn’t do well, and how to evaluate appropriate use in academics at AMC.
CRAAP Test workshop attendees will learn about the C.R.A.A.P. Test, a widely recognized method for evaluating the quality of information sources, and get the chance to apply it using real time examples. Great for classes who need to find “credible” or “reliable” sources for assignments.
Find A Sweater helps bridge the gap between consumer and academic research by focusing on finding a familiar consumer item—the sweater. Together we'll explore how you can use consumer research techniques as powerful tools for academic inquiry in a fun, low-stakes environment.
TBD
Coffee & Cookies: Come grab a little pick-me-up in the library!
Date: Thursday, March 6
Time: 11am - 2pm
Location: Library (Lower Level of the Info Commons)
